Lead Lined Shielding Barriers
- Lead Radiation Shields & Barriers
Marshield manufactures standard and custom shields and barriers for superior radiation protection. Whether you requirement is for low level or high level radiation shielding, we have a product for you.
Choose from 99.95% pure lead, lead acrylic, lead glass, lead vinyl or a combination of any of these materials. We can offer electromagnetic shielding from 1/32" thick to 2" and thicker. All lead shielding is carefully designed to ensure complete overlap and a effective radiation shielding product.
- Rolling Radiation Shields
Choose from MarShield's standard models or design your own custom rolling radiation shield or magnetic field barrier. Manufactured with carbon steel or stainless steel frames (optional), clear shatterproof lead acrylic and pure lead sheet, MarShield's rolling radiation shields and barriers offer a durable, functional / free rolling shield providing effective radiation / x-ray protection. Lead-equivalent protection of 0.8 or 1.5mm is standard; however, MarShield can custom manufacture to your specification in 0.5mm, 1.0mm or up to 2" and thicker. We offer over 25 custom colors.
Lead Blankets and Curtains
MarShield's lead wool or lead vinyl blankets are custom manufactured to your lead equivalency and size requirements. Grommets can be incorporated to allow for hanging. You design it and we'll manufacture it! MarShield offers quick lead times!
- Lead Vinyl Blankets
MarShield's lead vinyl blankets with durable nylon coverings are custom manufactured to your specifications. Available widths are 25", 32" and 50", and manufactured to your required length and in various colours. Lead equivalencies can be matched to meet your requirements. Generally, lead equivalencies in a vinyl blanket range from .25mm to 1mm; however, MarShield can manufacture to your specifications.
Velcro, buckles or straps can be added to make each blanket link with others and ensure that blankets are secure for optimum electromagnetic protection. Pockets, screening, logos and embroidery are also available.
- Lead Wool Blankets with Grommets
MarShield's lead wool blankets are fabricated with the highest quality of raw materials and designed to meet your radiation shielding needs. Available in actual thicknesses from 1/2" - 1" with lead equivalencies ranging from 1/8" - 1/2". Brass grommets are incorporated into the design for hanging. The stitched grommeted border is an additional 2" on each side and end.
- Lead Curtains
MarShield's lead curtains are custom manufactured to order. Available widths are 25", 32" and 50" which could be manufactured to your required length. MarShield's vinyl covering provides durability and is nonabsorbent / stain resistant. Grommets are added to enable hanging. Tracking and trolley systems are available.
Larger widths may be joined by overlapped Velcro joints. Velcro, buckles or straps can be added to enable linking with additional curtains and ensure that curtains are secure and protective. Pockets, screening, logos and embroidery are also available.
Lead X-Ray Glass and Acrylic
MarShield offers various materials for x-ray protection and shielding including leaded x-ray glass, lead acrylic plastic, and lead vinyl. Each has its own specific characteristics that allow for radiation shielding in many different settings.
- Lead X-Ray Glass
MarShield carries Pilkington Med-X leaded x-ray protective glass. Its high lead and barium content gives optimum shielding against radiation from equipment in the 100 to 300 kV range. Med-X has been designed for one purpose: to provide a high quality, transparent, protective shield against X-ray radiation.
- Leaded Plastic / Acrylic
The shatter resistant, versatile answer to all of your x-ray shielding needs. Lead Acrylic is not lead-glass. It's a unique versatile, transparent plastic that contains 30% lead by weight. Shatter resistant and rugged, it combines superb light transmission with effective radiation protection.
Lead-Lined Steel Doors and Frames
MarShield provides radiation protection in hospital and health clinic x-ray rooms. Our lead-lined, fire labeled doors and frames have a 1-1/2 hour Warnock Heresy rating. Doors are manufactured from 16 or 18 gauge galvanized steel and lined with ASTM-B29, X-Ray Grade lead. Lead thicknesses vary from 1/32", 1/16", 1/8" or thicker. A variety of hardware options are available.
